Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat backed recent Gen Z agitations across the country stating that protest is a way of dialogue and of reaching consensus in a democracy.
The remakrs came during RSS' youth outreach programme in Mumbai in which Bhagwat interacted with a large gathering of Gen Z and Gen Alpha students.
Bhagwat stated that protesting Gen Z are not anti-national and that the grievances raised by the youth are genuine. The RSS chief was alluding to the widespread protests organised by the youth against irregularities in the education system of the country, especially lapses in the conduct of examinations such as the NEET-UG.
Remarking that he believed in the Gen Z, Bhagwat also stated that education should not be a commercial business but one that is structured in such a way that it is available to everyone. Society should also contribute to improving status of education, Bhagwat added on.
The RSS chief also made several progressive remarks, claiming that LGBTQIA+ is a part of society and that women are equal partners in nation-building.
